Restaurants in Round Rock TX

There are many delicious restaurants in Round Rock. We’ve tried to narrow down our list of favorites to those essential local places every visitor must experience.

      1. Round Rock Donuts, while technically not a restaurant, is the most iconic and historic eatery in the city. Since 1926, people from all over the world have been stopping by to give our famous yellow (or are they orange?!) donuts a try. What makes these donuts, made from the original owner’s recipe, so unique are their yeast-risen bread-like dough, their distinct yellow color (from fresh eggs), and their special flavor. Unlike usual store-bought donuts made from baking powder, this yeast donut cannot be machine-made; it must be hand-rolled, cut, fried, and iced. On busy days now, as in the past, the bakery turns out over 500 dozen of these popular originals.
      2. Gino’s Italian Restaurant – Gino Minardi opened this Round Rock classic Italian restaurant in 1993. He was born and raised in the coastal town of Gela, Italy, which is located in the province of Caltanissetta. He came to America in 1957 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. He followed his children when they moved to the Austin area and the rest is history. They serve delicious Italian cuisine: lasagna, stomboli, linguini, pizza, and so much more. The Salt Lick, a local Texas barbecue, was originally opened in nearby Driftwood, Texas in 1967 by Thurman Roberts, Sr. and his wife Hisako T. Roberts. Hisako’s Hawaiian heritage inspired the sweet barbecue sauce used in the restaurant. Their primary cuisine is beef brisket, sausage, and pork ribs. Chicken, beef ribs, turkey, pulled pork and prime rib are also served. Merchandise available from the restaurant includes its trademark meats, sauces, and dry rub.
      3. Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, in addition to its large water and adventure parks, include 5 restaurants open to the general public without being a guest. Complimentary valet parking is available for local diners.
